Calcium build-up

All Seawater systems do by nature form a calcium scale build up and also can grow barnacles and other marine growth in the pipes reducing flow of water through the system. The Calcium build up inside heat exchangers works like insulation and can reduce the heat transfer between substances such a seawater and coolant or refrigerant. For this reason, it is necessary to ensure you keep your heat exchangers and pipes clean and clear.

Toilet Pipes and Uric Scale

Toilet pipes also gather a build-up of a very hard Uric Scale over years of use, Vacuum toilets are especially prone to this build up due to low water use during flush. As this Uric scale forms, it can cause complete blockage of the pipes and cause foul odours which can leach through PVC hose.

Descaler

Trac’s Descaler is designed specifically for fresh and brackish water applications, TRAC Descaler® can safely be used within engines, cooling towers, boilers, or just about any other system re-circulating water. TRAC Descaler® will not harm gaskets, seals, plastics or any metals commonly found in water systems.
